Overview of the Changes
Note: This article applies only to site administrators or higher.
You will no longer need to use the block layout to add content globally in your site. Use the appearance settings to access the new and improved settings.
When the Changes will Occur
This new functionality will be available as soon as all sites have been migrated to the Web Platform 2.0.
What’s Changing
- Access to the block layout features will be removed.
- You will not be able to create views.
- All users regardless of level will be able to select the taxonomy term from the component on the page that they are editing.
- Site administrators will have access to the appearance where they can implement global settings
New Access
You will now have access to the appearance settings where you will be able to manage the following:
- Add global alerts to your site.
- Add a Give URL.
- Select the type of search.
- Update the header and footer logos.
- Choose the type of main navigation menu.
- Add site credits.
Update and add social media URLs.
How to Access the Appearance Settings
- Login to your site.
- Click Appearance.
Click Settings on the surface theme.
- Update the desired settings.
