Overview of the Changes
In 2024, we launched a new content editing experience for editors. Based on user feedback and a review of the content being created, we have made two key improvements to optimize the appearance of content and enhance the user experience.
- When adding a component to a page, components are now grouped by category with clear labels. This makes it easier for users to find the appropriate component quickly.
- Our components are designed to work seamlessly across both mobile and desktop environments, ensuring a streamlined user experience. However, if components are placed in sections that are too small to support them, they may not display or function correctly. You will now only be able to add a component to a section if it is designed to work within that section.
How This Affects Existing Content
Existing components already placed in sections not designed for the component, will not be impacted. However, moving forward, new components cannot be placed in sections that are not designed to support them.
Why We Are Making This Change
These updates are being implemented to ensure our sites maintain a high-quality appearance and align with UCLA’s brand requirements. Additionally, this change ensures our sites meet current industry standards for usability and design.
Implementation Timeline
The update will take effect on February 28th.
