Changes to Document Uploads on the Web Platform
Document
This article covers the following topics:
Overview of the Changes
We are updating the types of documents that can be uploaded to the Web Platform. Going forward, only PDF documents will be accepted for upload on the Web Platform.
When the Changes Will Occur
Starting Friday September 15th you will only be able to upload PDFs on Web Platform sites.
What’s Changing
Existing Documents
We want to assure you that any existing documents you have uploaded to a Web Platform site will not be affected by this change. You will still be able to access your previously uploaded documents without any issues. However, please note that you will no longer be able to update or modify those documents directly on your site unless they are in PDF format.New Documents
You will only be able to upload PDF documents. We understand that this change might require some adjustments, and we kindly ask you to convert your files to PDF before uploading. Please note that when converting your files to PDF you must ensure that your documents are accessible. If you need further assistance with this process, the Disabilities and Computing Program Center has many resources available for you.Alternatives to PDF Documents
If you need to upload documents other than in PDF format:- Add your files into a Box folder and make the folder accessible to everyone within UCLA. Add a link on the page to your Box folder.
- Upload your files, programs and the like to a GitHub repository. You can then add a link on your page to the GitHub repository.
- If these options do not meet your needs, please complete a Support Request Form and we will be happy to discuss this further with you.
